Membership to the Yerba Buena chapter is free to all PSA members living in the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma. 

Our purpose is to provide additional photographic educational opportunities to photographers, whether PSA members or not, and to spread the word about our parent organization, PSA. To that end we sponsor all-day programs during the year, featuring either well-known photographers or special hands-on workshops, which are always well attended. The fee structure for attending the seminars is generally modest, and less for PSA members than non-members.

Presenters of some of our past programs include Sam Abell, Huntington Witherill, Gary Crabbe, Brenda Tharp, Jeremy Sutton, Richard Marin, Andre Gallant, Ian Plant, Jeff Cable, Eddie Soloway, and Steve Traudt.

We have also run a number of Judges Seminars to encourage camera club members to become judges and collected. We work closely with the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs to support their programs including FotoClave, a biennial full weekend conference.
